Sarah Yun joined the Korea Economic Institute in June 2011 as the Director of Public Affairs and Regional Issues.  Ms. Yun is responsible for managing KEI’s outreach programs to educate Americans on developments in Korea and U.S.-Korea relations both inside and outside of Washington, DC through programs such as Future of Korea and The Korea Club.  She is also responsible for presenting and reporting on developments in U.S./Korea’s relations with the Asia Pacific region.  She also manages KEI’s outreach and regional programs such as Opinion Leaders Seminar, Ambassadors’ Dialogue, Korean American Day Celebration, Korea-China Forum and Korea-Japan Study Group

Prior to joining KEI, Ms. Yun served as an AmeriCorps member and worked as a director at the Women’s Business Development Center in Chicago. At the Women’s Business Development Center, she was responsible for designing, building, and implementing new initiatives such as the Asian American Women’s Program and the International Business Program.

In Washington, DC, Ms. Yun worked and interned at the U.S. Department of State, Albright Stonebridge Group, and National Endowment for Democracy working on a breadth of issues related to the Korean peninsula, such as North Korea’s economic development and human rights, South Korea’s trade, and U.S.-Korea-China relations. In Korea, she has worked and interned at the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, Sejong Institute, and KPMG Korea. 

Ms. Yun holds an M.A. in International Relations at Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) with a concentration in Korea studies, China studies, and international economics.  She holds a B.A. in Political Science and Business Institutions from Northwestern University. Ms. Yun has lived in Seoul, Korea for many years and is fluent in Korean and proficient in Chinese Mandarin.
