Chad O'Carroll

Chad O’Carroll joined the Korea Economic Institute in July 2011 as Director of Communications. As the Director of Communiations he is primarily responsible for managing and directing KEI’s external relations, maintaining the website, and organizing events. 

Prior to joining KEI, Mr. O’Carroll directed online communications at the German Marshall Fund of the United States, a Washington D.C. based think-tank dedicated to strengthening transatlantic relations. He also worked in similar communications roles at the United Nations headquarters in New York City, and for various central government departments in his home country, the United Kingdom.

Mr. O’Carroll became interested in the Koreas while working at the United Nations in 2007. This interest developed significantly during his Masters program at Kings College London, where in 2009 he wrote his final thesis on North Korea.
