Speakers/Bios: 

Dr Jitendra Uttam is Assistant Professor in Korean Studies Division at the Centre for East Asian Studies, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. He received his Ph.D. in international political economy from Seoul National University, Department of International Relations. Prior to joining JNU, he taught at Daewoo Management Development Center in Seoul, Korea. His area of expertise is international political economy, with particular focus on Korea and India, techno-economics, and regulatory reform. He has published research papers on topics including: Korea’s techno-scientific state; convergence of finance, technology and entrepreneurship in India; and comparative analysis of economic growth in China and India. His research papers include: "Korea's New Techno-Scientific State: Mapping a Strategic Change in the Developmental State" (Sage Publication/2006) and "Convergence of Finance, Technology and Entrepreneurship: The Role of Liberal Financial System in the Making of India's New Economic Growth Regime” (NEGR) (Journal of International and Area Studies, Seoul National University/2005). He has presented several research papers at national and international conferences and lectured at various universities, institutions and forums.
