Martha Legocki joined the Korea Economic Institute as the Executive Assistant/Office Manager in January 2010. Ms. Legocki is responsible for managing all administrative functions of the organization, as well as supporting and facilitating the work of the President.

Prior to joining KEI, Ms. Legocki worked as a consultant in Seoul, South Korea. There she worked closely with members of the Korean government and academic institutions, especially Yonsei and Sogang Universities, to design and implement educational programs. During this time she co-authored a textbook, which was published by Megastudy in 2009. Preceding her time in Korea, Ms. Legocki spent two years as director of the Ulysses S. Grant Foundation, a non-profit organization based in New Haven, Connecticut, which endeavors to broaden the exposure of local students to opportunities for higher education.

Ms. Legocki graduated from Yale University in 2008 with a B.A. in Political Science and International Studies. She went on to post-graduate studies of the Korean language at Yonsei University in Seoul as a recipient of the Richard U. Light Fellowship at Yale. She also studied at Université Robert Schuman in Strasbourg, France as part of her undergraduate degree. She speaks French and Korean and is moderately proficient in Polish and Spanish.

Ms. Legocki’s interests include long-distance running, alpine skiing, and international travel. She hopes to spend much of her life abroad and also relishes a great book.
